Borderway Finance Shortlisted for National Awards Two Years in a Row

The Borderway team have been shortlisted for two national awards. In it’s 9th year, the Credit Strategy Car Finance Awards recognises the UK’s best dealers, finance lenders and brokers, and the awards evening will be spent celebrating best practice in the industry.

Borderway have been nominated as one of the best companies to work for within the sector. As part of The Cumberland Group, members of the Borderway team share the same benefits as others within the organisation including hybrid working, subsidised gym membership, cycle vouchers and free eye tests.

Community involvement is a big part of the culture with every member of the team given a paid day to volunteer in the local community. Last year, the Borderway team supported two fantastic causes, People First, a local advocacy charity, and FareShare Lancashire and Cumbria, a charity tackling food waste. Members of the team came together to raise £4,000 of sponsorship for People First by taking on the Ullswater Way Challenge and alongside colleagues in the Cumberland, provided over 362,000 meals to people in need through the partnership with FareShare.

As a way of measuring success, each year members of the team are invited to complete an engagement survey through the Best Companies, B Heard program. This year the team received a 2 star outstanding organisation to work for award.

The team have also once again been recognised for delivering customer service, by being shortlisted in the customer service excellence award. This is a highly contested category, with Borderway up against some tough competition from national lenders. The award recognises those companies who go above and beyond to deliver the very best service to customers in the industry. Delivering good outcomes is central to Borderway with the customer at the heart of everything they do. This has also been recognised by Feefo, an independent review platform, who have rewarded Borderway with a Platinum customer service award three years in a row.

Claire Deeks, Chief Customer Officer of The Cumberland said “Congratulations to the Borderway Team on being nominated for these two awards. It’s testament to the hard work of everyone in the team that they are being recognised for delivering excellent customer service and being part of creating an organisational culture of being one of the best companies to work for.”

Borderway’s Managing Director, Mike Deans, also has the privilege of being asked to be on the judging panel this year along with other independent motor finance experts and business leaders. While he can’t judge the awards Borderway are nominated for, he will be helping to pick the winner in other categories.

Following the nominations Mike said “The standard of entries in this year’s Car Finance Awards is truly outstanding, and reflective of the hard work undertaken across the industry to deliver the best outcomes for customers. I’m extremely proud that we’ve been shortlisted in these categories, recognising the hard work undertaken by the team each day to deliver “best in class” service to our customers. And, as an organisation, we’re continually looking for ways to improve our culture and be one of the best places to work to reward colleagues and attract great talent.”

The black tie event will be attended by Sales and Marketing Manager, Matthew Dodd, and Operations manager, Judith Armstrong. While the team will be hoping to bring one of the awards home, being nominated is a huge honour and great recognition for the work the team has done.
